Hey guys- this should be really amusing- spread the word...
Quote: | Imagine...
Newcomb's planning a university wide, peaceful Walk Out/ Sit In about the fact that we, as students, have slowly been losing our voice in administrative decisions and we want them to know that we're pissed about it. Whether you're an architect that's pissed about losing Peggy, a Newcomb girl that's losing her school, an Engineer that's losing your major, or someone who's just pissed, walk out of your classes at 2 PM on February 14 and come to Gibson Quad. Tell everyone you know...
Imagine... that we're pissed and we want our voice back... |
strength in numbers- everyone should be there!! |

I feel like we should join in this walk out. Wear engineering shirts and bring signs. These cuts are short sighted in general, Newcomb was the first degree granting womens program in the US. That is something worth keeping too. Strength in numbers. See you all there. _________________ - Justin Mikowski

Every engineer should be aware of this and participate.
If you leave a class, before you do announce, respectfully why, and then tell everyone in your class that they should follow. Then, whether they do or not, leave quietly and head to the quad. It is high time we make a show in force. If we do not, there is no way they will take us seriously, between the WEAK show at the "rally" and everything else I doubt we have made much of an impression. |

The Imagine Rally/Walkout is TODAY, February 14th!
Newcomb College, Tulane College, and the Engineering school will all have representatives present. PLEASE come and show your support from 2-4 pm on Gibson Quad!!
There will be free food, drinks, and t-shirts, as well as banners to sign, and places to write out your opinion on everything.
The Tulane-Newcomb Task Force (8 members of the original Board that voted on the Renewal Plan) will be coming out of their final meeting before they make their recommendations to the board.
Let's all show them that we are not giving up!! |
