The NOPD and the Times Pic are notorious for downgrading or failing to report crimes. There's a big one out there that they've left out of the press and there's a chance some poor Tulane student could get burned by the omission.

There have been 3 armed robberies at local bars. Mimi's (in the Marigny), the Hobnobber (near One Shell Square), and one other downtown bar have been hit. Each robbery has the same M.O. Three heavily armed assailants enter the bar, hold everyone up and leave. What's disturbing is at the last hit, they herded everyone into the back and talked about killing everyone. Anyone who remembers the horrific murders at the Louisiana Pizza Kitchen ten or so years ago will have alarm bells going off in their head at that last description.

Talk to any of the downtown bartenders. They're terrified.

In summation, be careful. Don't become a statistic. Pray to God the NOPD catch them and they go before a judge other than Ellois.
