Ironically, the A.B. Wood pumps that have worked for a century appear to doomed, not by obsolescence but geography and the Corps' sloppy floodwalls.

The reports of severe vibration and schedule slips by the Corps as they installed temporary pumps over the past year do not inspire confidence.

I would bet this new pump configuration will provide research opportunities for civil engineering programs.
