I'll take a stab at this. I think that Tulane engineering students going to other institutions to earn degrees which were formerly offered at Tulane is an insane concept. Tulane needs engineering at Tulane. New areas of interdisciplinary work are the areas of true innovation and Tulane is left in the dust. Please see link below to UCLA article.

I agree with Paleoboy, the idea of going to Tulane for four years to get a degree in Engineering Physics then spending at least one to two years to get a MS in EE, ME or CE seems to be counter-productive. I just as well just to Duke, Vandy or one of those other schools in the first place and do it in four years with no more than one more year for an MS if I want and MS.
