Watch channel 26 news at 5pm and 6pm tonight (1-5-06). Note: they interviewed Cowen first, so the questions we fielded seemed a little jaded. More news coverage announcements to follow soon…

Excellent. Just one future point: I think O' Reilley will make the best spokesman because of his local accent.

I love it how the line at the bottom of the screen read "Tulane Cuts Could Affect Levees."

They said Tulane will reverse it's cuts in 15 or so years, which is a reversal of their previous stance. Even if I were to settle for the promise to reverse the cuts, I'm not trusting the Administration further than I can throw them.

One other thing (which was covered in WDSU's coverage and not ABC's) is that the administration is refusing to hold fundraisers to save the engineering school. WDSU even contrasted Tulane's stance on engineering and athletics. Tulane can just keep pleading poverty until they get blue in the face, unless we come up with things like the fundraising to hit them back with. Every excuse Tulane comes up with must be countered.

Also, I've been talking to a lot of locals and we need to concentrate our efforts on getting the word of the cuts out. A lot of people have been distracted with dealing with their homes and post-Katrina stuff. Now, people are just beginning to get past some of that. Locals need to know about the cuts.

http://www.nola.com/abc26/

There is a link on there to the story about the engineering cuts. My mac is being picky and I can't open it. Maybe someone else can have better luck.

I've got a mac too. Just download the latest version of RealPlayer and use Safari. Then you're set. Sadly, the New York Times didn't publish an article. Hopefully something will happen within the next week.
