Save Tulane Engineering

We need to contact the biggest single contributor to Tulane and a graduate of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Program, David Filo of Yahoo. He contributed over $30 million and I assume he would do more for Tulane. We need to get him on our side and maybe be might even ask Tulane for the $30M back if they proceed with the plan to cut the engineering programs. Also there are other significant contributors both individuals and corporations, such as the Boh Family (Boh Brothers Co) and Entergy Corporation (contributes research money to EE and the department chair). Several local corporation (mostly engineering based), including Entergy, send people to the Tulane's Executive MBA program. Maybe we should lobby these corporations to move there manager/students to UNO and Loyola if Tulane proceeds with the cuts. I am a Sr. EE with Entergy and I will try to convince my fellow Tulane-Entergy colleagues in management to make the switch to support UNO engineering and MBA programs and Loyola's MBA program. I would also suggest that individuals write letters to Cowen and the board threatening pulling support from Tulane and start contributing to UNO engineering if these cuts are not reversed.

Accordind to some sources, Filo gave Cowen the OK to spend his money on any part of the University.
