Cowen blew the AAUP off. He also made the precondition that any future meeting would have to include an agenda given to him in advance. The AAUP sent Cowen an agenda with several topics of interest.
What's really interesting is that, according to the later letter, the only two holdouts left are Tulane and Loyola (maybe Xavier, I wasn't sure of all the names). Contrary to the Chronicle of Higher Ed's article about many university presidents stonewalling the AAUP, only Tulane and Loyola are still refusing to meet with the AAUP. Hmm.... The wall of solidarity is breaking down. _________________ Clay Kirby

This is Cowen's letter turning down the invitation to talk to the AAUP. He then goes right after the AAUP. Quite rude. _________________ Clay Kirby
