Subject: Re-Introduction of the Society of Tulane Engineers, Inc. to Engineering Alumni

Fellow Tulane Engineering Alumnus,

The Tulane School of Engineering was a well respected local, regional and national education institution. Tulane engineering was ranked as one of the top engineering schools in the south on par with Rice, Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt. It ended over two years ago.

A concerned group of engineering alumni have re-activated the Society of Tulane Engineers, Inc., STE. This re-activation is for the purpose of providing an organization where Tulane School of Engineering alumni can interact, discuss and exchange information about our experiences, professions and Tulane Engineering plus can provide an independent, alumni voice regarding engineering at Tulane.

This organization is completely independent of Tulane University and receives no funds from it. Funding for this organization is entirely through donations from alumni and other interested individuals. A small group of alumni are currently funding the operations of STE through a special committee. All donations are held by a committee organized to support STE know as the Committee to Restore Engineering and Support Tulane, Inc. CREST, which distributes funding to STE for operations and expenses. Both STE and CREST are non-profit organizations, but CREST, Inc. holds the 501c3 IRS status that donors can show legitimate tax deductions for their gifts to this cause.

STE goals and by-laws plus the organization’s mission statement are listed on its website: www.societyoftulaneengineers.org. Donations can also be made online at this web address. Information on CREST can be found on the donation tab of the STE web site.

Donations are being solicited to continue operations of the web site and improve its functionality plus enhance the communications between STE and all Tulane Engineering alumni. Please register and make a donation to STE through CREST using the donation tab at www.societyoftulaneengineers.org.

We ask that you forward this communication to anyone you may know who would be interested in being part of this organization and ask them to register at the website. In addition we have Society of Tulane Engineers groups set up at www.linkedin.com and on www.facebook.com, please visit and sign up as a way of enhancing both your professional and alumni communication with us and our members.

If you have any questions or comments, please contact Nick or me.

Regards,

David Gereighty, Pres. Nicholas M. Musmeci. VP
